The Chicago Stranger

Walking Chicago you escape the subtle shapes easily forgotten by those who last saw peace.

Fingers frosted numb by hawks chilled days ago.

Caught the surprise of those who removed their mask and walked freely during the masquerade.

Ha, the lights faint and flickered even during the day.

The place, the peace and the passion we shared lasted only seconds, until next trek footed flight.

The future ex-stranger returns seldom, but returns still.
